Heidelberg University, founded in 1386, is Germany’s oldest university and one of the most internationally renowned. Campus and location

Heidelberg’s institutes are spread across the historic Altstadt (old town) and the newer Neuenheimer Feld campus, which houses much of the university’s science and medical research. As Heidelberg is in Baden-Württemberg, non-EU students should note that this state charges international students a tuition fee of approximately €1,500 per semester, in addition to the standard semester contribution paid by all students.
