Working in Australia as an international student
International students on a Subclass 500 visa can work in Australia, with limits during term and unrestricted hours during scheduled course breaks. Post-study work options are available through the Subclass 485 Temporary Graduate visa.
Work hour limits during study
Student 500 holders can work up to 48 hours per fortnight when their course is in session. Outside scheduled course time — semester breaks, holidays — there's no limit.
After your course ends
The Subclass 485 Temporary Graduate visa offers two to four years of unrestricted work rights in Australia, depending on your qualification level and where you studied.
